Ms. Nyokabi Njuguna was moulded from a young age to be aware of her surroundings and has always had a special place in her heart for the underprivileged. Having been born and brought up in Mlango Kubwa- Mathare slums , she was able to experience personally the role that poverty plays in shaping a young person's mind and dreams. She was introduced to the M.Y.S.A program at the age of 9 and was involved in sports orientated activities and environmental clean-ups that paved way to her passion to give back to the society.

At 16, Dr. Eddah Gachukia recognized her spirit of change to make the world a better place and introduced her to the world of activism and advocacy. She was able to participate in the making of the Kenyan Constitution and has never looked back. She has worked in the low income housing, micro finance and public consultancy sectors. She possesses a bachelors in international business administration, a post graduate diploma in human resources and a masters in international cooperation and development. Additionally, she is a self taught basic programmer who has knowledge on the Java and Android programmes. In 2012, she realized that there was a need for the establishment of an authentically youth led organization that would actively advocate for a youth empowered and driven society.Impacting Youth Trust was born in August 2013 and has been working in the education, sports and arts and business sectors as strategic areas of intervention to help the young people who are from the low income areas. She has proven to be hands on leader who strongly believes in the role of the youth in the overall development agenda of each and every country and the need for more early intervention projects and youth inclusion as a strategy to resolve youth related issues.

She was shortlisted in October 2014 as one of the people making a difference in Nairobi through the Hype Choir Arts project and Stori Yangu Literacy project. She was the only female from East and Central Africa to participate in the 2014 Al Jazeera Media in Context canvas hackathon in Doha-Qatar. She recently participated in the New York University- Abu Dhabi hackathon for social good in the Middle East and North Africa in April 2015 as a mentor where she was the only female mentor from Sub Saharan Africa. She has been hailed for incorporating technology in community development and has numerously been requested to give talks in different forums to encourage more women into technology based development projects.
